As General Counsel for Canada’s largest independent software developer, now an IBM Company, Mr. Plaskacz managed three public offerings, negotiated and drafted hundreds of international and domestic licensing and distribution agreements, and executed an international tax and operations plan involving the creation and administration of 13 foreign subsidiaries. As a private practitioner, Mr. Plaskacz has concluded numerous technology acquisitions and divestitures, negotiated and litigated numerous settlements and disputes both in Canada and abroad. His practical legal advice provides value for both start up companies and established corporations.
In his capacity as a business consultant, Mr. Plaskacz has acted as a senior executive managing the operations of various companies, involving financing transactions, development of branding strategies and product research, development and positioning. As a registered Trademark Agent, Mr. Plaskacz also regularly provides guidance and advice to clients on branding, internet domain name protection and trademark prosecution and registration in Canada and the U.S.
