PATRICK R. SMITH
(613) 237-1512 Ext. 256
Mr. Smith joined Andrews Robichaud in 2016 and focuses his practice on trade-mark, corporate, business and patent law work.
Mr. Smith’s undergraduate degree in international management from the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management offered strong encouragement to travel and study abroad. After completing a semester at Lund University in Sweden during his undergraduate degree Mr. Smith later decided to study law in the United Kingdom. After completing his LL.B. from City Law School of The University of London, he returned to Ottawa and applied this international experience to researching the effects of multilateral trade agreements on intellectual property policy development. In doing so, he obtained his LL.M in Law and Technology. During this same period Mr. Smith also worked as a research assistant and completed an internship with the Canadian Internet Registration Authority.
Mr. Smith’s previous work experience in digital marketing adds further value to his service offering. He helped manage several digital ad campaigns for one of Canada’s largest credit unions and also helped revitalize a Northern Ontario community’s tourism industry through search engine optimization, search engine marketing and social media marketing. This previous experience fits very well with Mr. Smith’s desire to offer practical and holistic legal and business development advice.
